Spider-Man The epic poem Beowulf, and the modern-day movie “Spider-Man”, both contain characters with many of the same attributes; namely, strength, bravery, and special abilities. The characters have many similar qualities, but since Spider-Man is very modern, he possesses many features that set him apart from the character of Beowulf. A quality that Spider-Man holds, that is significant to his hero-savior characteristic, is his incredible strength. Peter Parker, the character portrayed as Spider-Man, is an average built, high school student, with not much muscular ability. He is bitten by a genetically engineered spider, that possesses an extraordinary strength. Being bitten by this spider, altered Parker’s genetic makeup, causing him to obtain the same strength ...
