The epic journey of Enrique and Rosa is one of many hardships. From their small Indian community in South America to the impoverished Mexican city of Oaxaca all the way up to the United States where they believed they could make a good life for themselves.
Their journey began in their small South American village that Enrique and Rosa had grown up in. Their family and the rest of the people in the village had lived in peace until a corrupt government began to interfere. The government needed more people to work their farms so they began taking women and men from their homes and sending them to the plantations, but some people were planning to revolt against them and Enrique and Rosa’s father was one of them. However, the government was on to their operation and quickly put an end to it, killing Enrique and Rosa’s father.
