Sonny’s Blues - A Family Bond
This story has a true meaning of family bond. How our memories of childhood growing up with a sibling are a lifetime memory. How in the end, our parents, children and siblings are our families no matter what obstacles we may cross.
The storyteller, is the brother who has made something of his life, begins telling the story by reading about his brother Sonny, who has been arrested for possession of heroin and intent to sell. He has not seen or heard from Sonny in over a year. He talks about their childhood and how Sonny seemed filled with rage in his teenage years. On his way home that same evening he comes across a boy that was Sonny’s age and grew up in the same neighborhood. The boy was also addicted to drugs and tried to explain why people get addicted.
