Software Defect Prevention

DP is one of the Level 5 KPAs of Software CMM.In CMMI it is known as causal Analysis and Resolution(CAR). The cost of rectifying defects is much higher compared to preventing the system from being affected by any defect.("Prevention is always better than cure" or "A stitch in time saves nine") . At the start of the practice it may be quite difficult to anticipate what several defects may occur in the process of development or maintenance.So at initial phase defects are bound not to be identified.DP activities are deployed to identify the defects , analyzing them ,finding the cause of it and then applying the findings for eliminating
