Values are the ideas which are considered important by a certain group of people. Culture is the sum of the ways in which a particular group of people lives. Cultural values are the ideas and things considered important by a particular group of people and their lifestyle.
There are many values in the US culture today. Many Americans value equality, freedom, and democracy. According to sociologist Robin William’s; equality, freedom, and democracy are the three core ideas of values in American society today. Humanitarianism is also an important value to many Americans. People value the ability to help others in need. Americans also value work, personal achievement, success, and practicality.
