Sociological analyzation of the movie Fresh

In the movie Fresh, directed by Boaz Yakin you can see classic roles of subcultures in a big society trying to survive the only way they know how, which is fending for themselves. First we see Fresh, he’s growing up in the “ghetto”, 10 people living in one house, and no main concentration on him or his upbringing. He is trying to survive and learn life on his own. The norms in his community are drug dealers, addicts, poor people, etc. If you see a certain way of life all the time, especially by older people you look up to, you accept this as a norm and try to follow this way.
Fresh, at the age of 12, is already a drug dealer and making his own money. He is showing roles of deviance against the law because this is normal in his community, and not in others, but that doesn’t make it legal.
