socialization

There is many different types of socialization that a parent might use when taking care of their child. I as a child went through many of the different types of socialization, most importantly Reverse, Re-Socialization, Anticipatory, and Repressive socialization.
One of the type of socialization that was important in my childhood was reverse socialization. Reverse socialization is when the child teaches his or her parent something. For example I was born in Canada so therefore I learned English as a first language. However my parents speak English as a second language, after Punjabi. My mother does not speak as well as my father does. When my older brother and I would speak, we of course would speak in English and our mother would learn a few new words from hearing us speak. This is reverse socialization, the parent is learning, or being socialized by the child. There is many other examples of this type of socialization.
