Donnie Brasco is a movie about an FBI agent Joseph D. Pistone who goes undercover as a jewel broker. Eventually he is able to find his way into the mob through the character Lefty Ruggiero who is a aging hit man. Lefty shows Donnie the ropes and lifestyle of the mob and teaches him how to carry himself about these people. When looking at the movie through the aspects of social groups and organizations, you can point out why they may act the way they do.
Mob families are social groups. They use the fraise family in that they are all close to each other like a family. The make a big part of their social lives and have mostly the same goal in mind. The mob could be seen as Lefty’s primary group. Its been his lifestyle over 20. This would point out why he is accepting as he is when he called for at the end of the movie.
