Smith on "The End of Time"

Smith’s essay discusses the how humans use their “time” especially during the time near the point of death. He states that they dying have a an enormous amount to teach us about the importance of time. We all want more of it, but for some reason we don’t fully live within it. We assume that our health will always be excellent, and that we will live an endlessly into the future.
We often look into the future with a false sense of realism, as if people were actually assured that this would happen. The problem is that this false sense of assurance is not true. No one knows when the future will end. To more clearly explain this assumption he explores his views. These views are from what he has learned from what he has seen in the Hospital.
