SKY CITY 1000

In 1989, Takenaka announced
to the world the SKY CITY 1000
concept which advocates multilevel use of urban spaces.
In the 21st century and beyond, high density functions will be increasingly concentrated in cities.
On the other hand, there is likely to be a similar increase in demands for contact with nature, based on greenery.
As an urban space which maintains a good balance between these two environments, Takenaka has planned SKY CITY 1000, a superhigh-rise, huge multilevel city with a height of 1,000 meters.
Since the announcement of this concept in 1989, it has attracted attention throughout the world, and on the threshold of the next millennium, there are increasing expectations for its realization.
