What changed for America after the September 11 terrorist attacks and the War against Iraq?
In November 13, 2001, two months after the deadly terrorists attacks to New York and Washington DC, President George W. Bush, with the support of most Americans, issued a legal military order persecuting those believed to be a threat to US safety, its ideals, and economic interests at home and abroad. The executive document titled “president Issues Military Order: Detention, Treatment, and Trial of certain Non-Citizens in the War Against Terrorism,” also authorized the US Department of Justice and its branches to investigate foreign citizens and civilians living in the US and abroad (The White House 2001).
