Siddhartha is young man trying to discover himself by finding the source within his own Self, and possessing it. In trying to accomplish this, he joins the Samanas, but finds no answer in their teachings. While his best friend, Govinda, turns to the Buddha, Siddhartha finds out that to find his Self he must first become one with himself, learn the secret of Siddhartha instead of trying to flee from himself.
