Should Marijuana be legalized?
A question that is trying to be answered is whether or not marijuana should be legalized. Marijuana may be legalized because some people say it has no greater effect than alcohol and alcohol is legal. Others say that is actually very bad for one’s health. Marijuana, which is an illegal substance right now, might be legalized very soon. Marijuana should not be legalized because it is an addictive drug, it may serve as a gateway drug, recreational use may lead to abuse, and marijuana is detrimental to a person’s health.
Marijuana is an addictive drug. “Contrary to popular opinion, marijuana does have addictive properties.”(Brown) Mr. Brown goes on to state that heavy use creates both physical and psychological dependence.
