Should drugs be legal and available for the market?

I think Gore Vidal did an excellent job describing his theory about drugs. In his writing, Vidal clearly expresses his feelings about illegal drugs and what should be done about it. An example of Vidal’s opinion about illegal drugs is when he states in the first paragraph, which says, “Don’t say that marijuana is addictive or dangerous when it is neither…” (Vidal 437). I absolutely agree to what he is stating because it is obvious, since marijuana does not make one addicted. To prove this, I have added Marie Winn’s definition of addiction in her essay titled “TV Addiction”, in which she writes, “…Yet the essence of any serious addiction is a pursuit of pleasure, a search for a “high” that normal life does not supply.”(Winn, 486-87) I know from friends that many teenagers frequently use marijuana only because it is a form of entertainment, in other words; smoking marijuana gives them something to do wh...
