Short Play: Sarah's Night Out

Sarah's Night Out

Setting: bedroom
Time: 12.30 pm
Day: Saturday
Character/s: Sarah

Sarah: [Yawns and gets out of bed, clutching head] God! Is that the time?! Hmmm, perhaps I should have taken it easier on the drinks last night, my heads killing me and who the hell is he? [indicates the person asleep in bed].

Oh God, that’s right… Michelle rang me up yesterday morning, asking if I wanted to go for a drink that night at the local pub. I was considering whether I should go or not, when I got another call from my boyfriend, Josh. So I put Michelle on hold, wondering why Josh was calling this early.

I found out that he was going to the pub as well. So I got back to Michelle and told her that I’d meet them there at 7.

I was ‘sposed to be taking mum out that day. I knew that she was going to ask me to come over for dinner with her and dad. Now, I had an excuse not to go.

I put my guilty conscience aside. After all, even getting drunk stupid was better than spend...
