Sexual Discrimination in the Work force

In today’s society many groups have chosen to believe that government involvement in the workplace has lead in sexual discrimination. This statement has been backed up by scientific data that says women do not make the same amount of money as men. Some groups go even further as to say the discrimination starts as early as in the classroom. There are many beliefs to this topic and I will truth to uncover the truth to this argument.

In a National Longitudinal Survey of youth shows women between the ages of 27 to 33 who have no children earn 98 cents on the male dollar compared to the 72 cents that the women that has children do. Women have in the years moved up in professions. From 1960 to 1993 the percentage of M.D.s earned by women increased from 5.5 % to 37.7%. In 1960 women earned 2.5 percent of law degrees and in 1993, 42.5 percent.
