Setting Free Our Youth
Legalizing the drug trade in the United States would prevent many of the troubles youth face today.

We have lost our kids because we haven’t the time, inclination, strength of character or political will to do the right thing in their name: to eliminate the black market that so mercilessly exploits them- and the runaway violence it spawns- by legalizing, taxing and regulation the trade. This could not be truer. The illegality of the drug trade is the cause for the troubles of the youth in the article and for many others across the United States. The problems in today’s society mirror those during the time of prohibition. If drugs became legalized, there would be a drop in the sales and consumption of drugs. In addition, the legalization of drugs would allow for control and regulation by the government. Regulation would allow purer safer drugs to reach the consumer.
