Service

As is read in Ecclesiastes 2:20,“As others toil for me, I must toil for others.” For me, this simple statement embodies all of what a community service project is. Because my parents have always given so much in working for me, I wanted to find a way to serve someone else the way my parents have served me: with nothing in return except gratitude and a smile.
For Confirmation, I completed three service projects. The service project I enjoyed the most was working at Our Lady of Good Counsel’s Summer Camp. Because my sister worked there six years ago and said it was fun, I had always hoped to work at the OLGC summer camp. However, when I realized I would have to give up two weeks of my summer vacation, I suddenly didn’t want to do it anymore.
