Three Strikes and You're Out Law

Have you ever made a mistake? I am not a betting person, but I think my odds would be very good in saying that you have. Mistakes can often make or break people. It is true that you can learn from your wrong-doings, but there are also consequences that come with making mistakes. Some of the consequences are serious, and some of them are not as severe, depending on the offense. My essay will tell about the Three Strikes penalty and its consequences.
California voters first adopted the Three Strikes penalty in 1994. Arkansas adopted it as a law the following year. Basically what this penalty means is that after three felonies , one of which must be a "serious violent felony" or a "serious drug offense," the person convicted of the crimes could face a mandatory life sentence in jail.
