Secret Window, Secret Garden
My book, which is part of a collection of four novellas, is entitled “Secret Window, Secret Garden”. It is set in a rural township in Maine. The main character is Named Mort Rainey, a writer who is going through a mid-life crisis in my opinion. He and his Wife Amy have just separated through a divorce and he’s living in their summer home in Western Maine.
The story begins as Mr. Rainey is confronted by the antagonist of the story Mr. John Shooter. Mr. Shooter accuses Mr. Rainey of plagiarizing a story that he wrote. Mort tries to figure out who the man was or if he recognized him from somewhere. He didn’t recall Mr. Shooter from anywhere and denied the allegations brought forth.
