Secondary School Teacher
The field of secondary education includes teaching junior high and high school students. Secondary educators work more than 40 hours a week sometimes. They sign a contract to work nine or ten months, and have a two to three month vacation time. They get to have holidays off like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Spring Break. Secondary educators also have the option of teaching summer school sessions during the summer school time. Some of the teachers use their summers in order to obtain higher degrees like a master’s degree in education. Others use their vacations to travel, or take other summer jobs.
