Second round

Second Round
By Carmen Lidia Rivarola
Oh man! it was hot!. Middle of January in Paraguay, not even the birds were flying. No signs of summer storm or a sprinkle. One of those rains which makes you feel like a jelly donut. It was hard to walk, and harder to run….
To run.. I need to go to the gladiator’s court. Every one is waiting; every one has their hopes on me. But it is so hot… I wish this had never happened to me. I am afraid I will fail, but after all this effort, after all the time and work that I expended to get to this stage…I have to try.

I started to dream about this a long time ago, when I was a child, maybe 12, when my father woke me up every morning at 5:30 to go to training. He had tennis lessons at 6, my mother at 630 and I had lessons at 7:00. I hated tennis then, but slowly it turns into my passion. The manner I chose to live my life. Try hard, practice, if you fail once, you will gain the next or the next but never give up....
