Cystic Fibrosis, or Mucovisidosis, is a genetic disorder in which the production of a thick, sticky mucus that clogs the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract takes place (Cystic). The body’s ability to move salt and water in and out of cells is affected. This causes the lungs and pancreas to secrete the thick mucus (Condition).
