In addition to school specific standards developed by the charter school, statewide standards are usually used to measure success. Periodically, usually every three to five years, the charter is reviewed and may be renewed or revoked depending upon performance of the school. The granting body monitors the progress of the school in light of the agreed upon achievement goals.
