Science and Education Is the Key to Modernization

More than twenty years ago, our late respected Prime Zhou Enlai made it public that our country would be modernized at the end of this century. But it is a pity that, what with one thing and another, the great blueprint became a castle in the air. After carrying out the opening and reforming policies, our Party believes that modernization will be entirely possible in the first half of the 21st century, as long as we hold an idea that economic development is the center of all our work, while the velocity of economic development depends on the level of science and education in the final analysis.
