The terrorist attacks in New York and Washington D.C. made me realize that my family’s safety will never again be taken for granted. I feel robbed of one of my basic comforts as an American citizen. I cannot explain the emotions I felt on September 11, 2001 as I waited all day for a phone call to verify my family members were alive. Days and nights I spend in New York will never be the same. They will be tainted with images of this horrific attack on America. The guilty party in this attack targeted civilians, rather than military. Therefore, innocent mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters were taken from the earth. It brought me to realize that although we are the strongest nation, we are not invincible, we still ...
