SAD

The seasons are changing, and each year, thousands of people are affected with a disorder most might not realize they have. S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) is a winter depression caused by a chemical imbalance. This imbalance is caused by the lack of sunlight and shortening of hours. Although I’ve heard of S.A.D many times before, I have never really known what it did to people and how many people it affected per year. The first occurrence of this disorder was noted in 1845, but was never officially named. A study was done on the effect sunlight had on the seasonal activities of animals.
