Sacrifice in Grapes of Wrath (very good!)

Sacrifice is the surrender or destruction for the sake of something desired or precious. It is clearly able to see this act throughout the novel The Grapes of Wrath. In difficult times such as the state of depression that The Grapes of Wrath was set in, many would think that the characters in this situation would angrily rage into an “every man for himself” state of mind. Yet this was not necessarily true, since brave acts of courage and sacrifices were significantly shown through the farmers, Jim Casy, and Rose of Sharon.
For the duration of the entire novel, and notably booming in chapters nine through twelve, all the migrants made a very personal sacrifice. When the Farmer’s Association drove the Joads and all other farmers off their own land, all of them were forced to give up the land that they were born on, worked on, some even died and killed on.
