A sacrament is a formal religious act. Each sacrament is performed for a specific purpose to grant a particular grace. In Catholicism there are seven sacraments, these include baptism, confirmation, sacrament of the Eucharist, reconciliation, the anointing of the sick, sacrament of holy orders and matrimony.
The Sacrament of Holy Orders is ordination into the Catholic clergy. The clergyman being ordained vows to lead other Catholics by bringing them the sacraments such as Eucharist etc. by proclaiming the Gospel, and by providing other means to holiness.
The three degrees in the Sacrament of Holy Orders are bishop, priest and deacon.
A Bishop is a clergyman who has spiritual and administrative authority. He is appointed in the Catholic Church as the head of a dioceses, with authority over the priests within that dioceses, the Bishop is superior to all priests.
