Rosa Parks:
“Concerned About Equality for all People”

What if you changed the world by merely sitting down? It’s hard to believe that such an insignificant action would change much of anything. We normally don’t think about taking a seat on a bus. The only thought that comes across our minds is to find a pleasurably comfortable seat to relax our exhausted and weary bodies. Rosa Parks, an unknown seamstress in Montgomery, Alabama, took a seat on a bus and the whole world changed.
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks had had a dreadfully long day at her job. Her entire body moaned and throbbed longingly to sit down. Absentmindedly, she boarded a bus when after a few stops, the driver swiveled around in his chair and asked her to allow a white man to have her seat.
