The main reason the play ‘Romeo + Juliet’ is a tragedy is because of themselves. It could have been a romance but they keep running from problems, like their parents and it turns into tragedy.
One reason why they kept running away is because of family fighting. Both Romeo and Juliet were fighting with their parents, especially Juliet. Her father wanted her to marry Paris, but Juliet didn’t love him. She loved Romeo. Her father makes her marry Paris. He says “I tell thee what-get thee to church on Thursday, Or never after look me in the face”.
So Juliet tells her father she will marry Paris. “To beg your pardon. Pardon, I beseech you! Henceforward I am ever ruled by you”.
But she doesn’t marry Paris. She drinks poison, given to her by the Fr...
