Romeo and Juliet, Juliet's Maturity

Juliet is quite a strong character in Romeo and Juliet, she stays true to her husband and rapidly matures into a women by doing things such as defending Romeo when he kills Tybalt, denying marriage to Paris and takes the sleeping potion. She displays how loved ones should act towards each other and maturity even when it seems easier to give up

The death of Tybalt again displays how much of a dedicated wife Juliet is. When the Prince announces that Romeo shall be banished “ Immediately we do exile him hence”. (Act 3 scene 2 L- 191) Juliet is grieving, so depressed, she cares more that Romeo is banished rather than Tybalt being dead. Juliet’s response to Romeo being banished is very strong “ But I, a maid, die maiden widowed” (Act 3 scene 2 L 135).
The secret relationship is bad because no one realizes what Juliet is going through and everyone assumes that she is depressed for Tybalts death, when in fact it is about her husband being banished. The Nurse is overwhelmed with ...
