Evaluating the Differences of Two Brilliant Eras
The Romantic period is a phase in literature where the authors begin thinking with their heart, rather than with their mind, like those authors of the Enlightenment, or the Age of Reason. This shift in view is made evident through the lifestyle, music and literature of each age. The subject matter, the purpose of writing, and the tone in the literary works draw attention to the tremendous dissimilarity of the narration of the hero, the narrator itself, and the consciousness of the hero of the Enlightenment, and of the Romantic age.
The differing subject matter, such as the type of stories told and the action, found in the works of the Enlightenment and Romantic periods, aid in the demonstration of the key differences in position between the ages.
