The Humanist Renaissance and Early Modern Period
This is a period from 1500 to 1700. It is known as the “Renaissance” or the rebirth of literature. Many Italian scholars started to begin reading the old Greek and Roman works but from a different view. They started learning and reading to deal with everyday life and spread through all ranks of society. The writers and scholars, who are responsible for the rebirth of the culture, are known as “humanists.” The works of the humanists traveled from the north and west. At the same time an older world was being reborn, a modern world was being born.
