Role of Children in our societies and pertaining theories

Throughout history, children have played a role in our societies, some less significant than others. Prior to the 1600s, children were treated roughly the same as adults with no special care given to their development. We’ve progressed far since that time and learned much. Child development has evolved from primitive theories such as original sin into the sophisticated science we have today. Children are no longer treated as adults, there are a myriad of different theories and developmental stages children are said to experience. While no one theory is intrinsically right or wrong, they each have different aspects that appeal to different people. Therefore it is safe to assume the people responsible for these theories are going to have differing developmental views as well. This paper will go into detail about three of these revolutionary theorists and their responses to a very upset 2-year-old boy named Chris.
