Rhetoric

There are two concepts that play a substantial role in Aristotle’s thinking on rhetoric. These two topics are Enthymeme and Paradeigma. Enthymeme is an argument built from values, beliefs or knowledge held in common with the speaker and the audience it is exposed to. Paradeigma is an argument from an example or examples to a probable generalization; the inductive argument that complements the deductive enthymeme. Speakers use both as a way to persuade the audience.
