Rewards of having a diary

As a child, I grew up in a very loving and accepting family with a great sense of morals and values. I was surrounded with all those whom I had loved and respected those who I had admired and looked up to my entire childhood- my family. Because of my family, everyday was filled with laughter and playfulness sun up until the late hours of the evening. It seemed as if I was living a perfect life in that in that perfect country of mine, Jordan. Then I began to realize that along with all the love and care I had received from my family came the strict and old-fashioned mind set that they themselves had grown up with. Being born and raised in such a country, I am now surprised at the fact that I was too blinded by the carefree attitudes and pleasures of being a child to see the conservative motives and values of my country and of those who for so long had resided in it.
