General Information on China
• In 1911 china was declared a democratic country
• China has come to be dominated by foreign powers
• China is republic
• Lacks real military and political force
• Ruled by emperors
• Emperors had all the power if they were weak they would be over thrown
• There were three main religions in china : Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.
• Confucianism were the main teachings of China. You had to be educated to become a mandarin and education was expensive therefore only the wealthiest people became mandarins.
• There were two political parties; guomindag (nationalists) and communists
• Sun Yatsen had started many revolts, most of which were successful
• There was growing support for the nationalist party
• After Sun Yatsen had started the revolts he was forced to leave china.
