Return Field Trips, Missionaries, and Participation

Fieldwork never really ends. Anthropologists often return to their fieldwork site years later, to
conduct more extensive research. Culture is a process of becoming, and it always changes.
So when the anthropologists return to the fieldwork site after many years, they see this first
hand, helping them further extend their research. For example, in the Karabuga Dani, O'brien
returned thirteen years later to a land that was in full control by Indonesia. The Dani were now
