Response to 8 Mile
As most families start out and continue to expand, many problems and concerns seem to develop. Some families find themselves well off and financially set, with no worries about money at all. Other families cannot seem to establish themselves financially, which in turn puts a lot of pressure on the main relationships of the family. In the movie, 8 Mile, one of the main concerns that the producers dealt with is impoverished families. The purpose of this paper is to examine the cultural grouping of families and children living in poverty and compare it to the underprivileged family portrayed in 8 Mile.
One of the main themes portrayed in the movie, 8 Mile, is the idea of low-income and underclass families. These people can be defined as a cultural group because they share basic qualities with one another.
