Building an Empire Right Under Your Nose?
Life begins with dependency of a child on parents. The second step in the development of individuals is independence. The third and most difficult step in the development of highly effective leaders is interdependence. True interdependence, based on principles and values, enables individuals to become tremendously effective and productive.
Some companies expect individuals in interdependent positions to operate in this manner when there has been no building of maturity or strength of character to maintain the process. Companies must plan ahead proactively to develop interdependence of employees for both to be effective. Blaming “empire–builders” for this scenario is counterproductive and a waste of time.
