The Renaissance period lasted from the 15th century to the 17thcentury. This is a period when jewelry became an even more important part of the peoples costume. Both men and women wore velvet and silk robed which were embroidered with pearls and sparkling gems. Separate pieces of jewelry had designs that looked like paintings, architecture, and sculpture.
