Remeber the titans

In the early 70s, many people rioted and protested against the integration of African Americans into white schools. T.C. Williams in the city of Alexandria in Virginia was just one of many that decided to unite the two races into one school. Coach Yoast had been the football coach of the white boys and had lead them to many titles and was highly respected for it. But when the school of T.C. Williams opened, Coach Yoast lost his head coaching job to a black man, Coach Boone.
The reason for this action was to show the community that the schools had really integrated. Right off the bat there was hostility between the two.
Coach Boone was a coach from North Carolina, who had coached four different teams to five state titles in less than a decade.
He had a fresh mind with new ideas for the team.
