Public schools are the tool with which American society instills knowledge and values to the next generation. That is why public schools must teach more religion in their curriculum. It is very important to teach students other ways of interpreting reality. Religion not only teaches about history, but more importantly it teaches important values on how to lead a healthy life.
It is an important thing to educate students about the different religions around the world. “There are good secular reasons for incorporating the serious study of religion into the curriculum of public schools. First, a good liberal education should expose students to the major ways that humankind has devised for thinking about what is most important. Some of those ways are religious.” (Nord.175) Whether people accept it or not religion has played a big part in how we got here and who we are today. High school students should have the privilege to take classes strictly pertaining to religion. ...
