Religion and Prostitution.
Supposedly the oldest profession in the world is Prostitution, if this is the case then the second oldest profession is fighting prostitution. The United States has had people trying to eliminate prostitution since the conception of the country. To decriminalize it we must understand the opposition to it and how to address the concerns. One area in which prostitution is fought is with the Church and religious communities.
The religious communities feels the act of prostitution is immoral therefore should be illegal. Part of the concern is that sex is an act created by God and to be shared with a husband and wife and not with others or before marriage. Yet another reason for it to be illegal.
