recycle to save the earth

Sarah Bruestle has been the Pueblo City-County Health Department's environmental coordinator for the past three years.
During that time, Bruestle has been in charge of the collection of countless mounds of trash and tires.
She helped convince City Council of the need to increase landfill fees, so her salary and periodic cleanup programs may continue to be funded.
Bruestle says she doesn't know how much Puebloans recycle, or if local items designated for recycling actually are recycled.
She says the two waste management companies that collect paper, cardboard, plastics, newspaper, magazines and cans tell her they wouldn't invest the manpower and equipment in the task if they weren't recycling the items.
