Free Writing on Reading

How were you introduced to reading as a child?
I was introduced to reading as a child when I was probably about the 1st grade. I remember there were little excercises with different levels. 1 being the easiest level and as you pass each level the words get harder. At first we didn’t begin reading all at once like books stories or anything the teacher did the reading for us. Actually as I think now reading started when I was in preschool where we first learned our ABC’s. I was young and I remember having to stand up and say the ABC’s along with my fellow classmates. The first person would say A the next would say B and so on. I remember not having a problem with learning the ABC’s and I remember saying the ABC song where it ends “now I know my ABC’s next time won’t you sing with me.” I also remember when I was in kindergarten the teacher reading to us.
