¡§An Ounce of Cure¡¦, written by Alice Munroe, was about a woman telling her own story on her most remarkable part of her life. Alcohol was the one that builds up her most embarrassing moment she ever felt in her life. However, the adolescent love made the narrator so sad, which pushed her to try new ¡§things¡¨, like alcohol. What was the meaning of the alcohol stands in the story? Why alcohol made the narrator felt so embarrassed? What did she learned about the alcohol?

Alcohol is a strong depressant. The narrator was depressed while she was babysitting for the Berrymans because of the sad moment just past with her ¡§boyfriend¡¨. When she decided to get something to drink, the narrator saw three bottles of alcohol on the counter. This was the moment that she decided to try the liquor, which was in front of her.
