Rapper’s careers start off, usually on the streets, by going to organised underground clubs, parties and whenever they can get a break to show their skills, and sometimes get picked up by music scouts. Also there are places called battle zones where wannabe rappers go up against other wannabes and have to make up off the top of their heads a rap that disses their opponent. Eminem battle.
