Randalls ballad of bimingham

Could you imagine the destruction of a church? Society has always viewed the church as a sacred and safe place. This turns out to be untrue with the bombing of Birmingham church. Dudley Randall depicts this event in his poem “Ballad of Birmingham”. In Randalls poem you see a little girl who wants to go to the freedom march. Her mother says that it is unsafe and that the church is a better place for a child. The child follows her mother’s directions and goes to church. The church then blows up killing the girl and everyone else inside. This poem shows irony and the destruction of society...
